Who are we?

Fairview Hall is a local meeting of Christians (followers of Christ) who seek to gather solely to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Who leads us?

Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18), which is His body (Ephesians 1:22-23), and which is made up of all true followers of Him. Since the local gathering of believers is the local representation of Christ's body, He is also the head of our local church.

What form of church government do we follow?

The Lord Jesus Christ guides us through a plural number of male Elders, in accord with the New Testament Scriptures (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). Deacons are also appointed by the elders to assist in ministering to the church (1 Timothy 3:8-13; Acts 6:1-7).

What is our foundation?

We stand on the supreme authority of the Scriptures, which are inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16). We rely on the Spirit of God alone to reveal, teach and illuminate the wisdom, truth and instruction revealed in the Scriptures. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God and our only Foundation (John 1:1, 14; 1 Corinthians 3:11).

We desire to whole-heartedly follow the Word of God, interpreting the Scriptures with the Scriptures through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We only receive teaching, and teachers, who believe and follow this rule. We do not accept tradition or reasoning of men which do not correspond with the Scriptures. However we do take seriously what the Holy Spirit has taught those who have gone before us.

What gospel do we preach?

This is the gospel in which we stand: "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Forgiveness comes through faith and trust in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ alone, which brings us to God having made peace between God and us (Romans 5:1-2).

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to-day, and for-ever. (Hebrews 13:8)
